FAQ
Sports socks for women & men for running, training and gym
When you train, it should be your muscles that do the work, not your feet. Sports socks, or functional socks, are designed to keep your feet dry, reduce the risk of chafing, and provide a comfortable fit throughout your workout, whether you're running, training at the gym, or being active outdoors.
Gococo's sports socks combine smart design with quick-drying 37.5® Technology to wick away moisture and provide high comfort even during intense workouts. Our models are available for both men and women, in several shaft heights and for different types of training.

WHAT MAKES GOCOCOS SOCKS UNIQUE?
Frequently asked questions about sports socks
-
Sports socks are designed to provide better comfort and functionality during physical activity, while regular cotton socks are primarily intended for everyday wear.
The biggest difference lies in the material and construction. Cotton absorbs moisture and dries slowly, which can leave your feet feeling damp and increase the risk of blisters during exercise. Sports socks, on the other hand, are made from performance materials that effectively wick away moisture and help keep your feet dry.
Sports socks also often feature a carefully designed construction with reinforcement and support in areas where the foot experiences the most pressure. This provides a secure fit, reduces friction between the foot and shoe, and helps maintain comfort throughout the activity.
At Gococo, every pair of sports socks is developed with a focus on functionality, fit, and lasting comfort, so you can focus on your training instead of your feet.
-
There is no material that is best for all activities. The best choice depends on how and when you use your sports socks.
Synthetic performance materials effectively wick away moisture, dry quickly, and help keep your feet dry during high-intensity training. Merino wool naturally regulates temperature, keeps you warm even when damp, and helps prevent odors. This makes merino wool a popular choice for longer sessions and training in varying weather conditions.
At Gococo, we combine carefully selected materials with technologies such as 37.5® Technology for effective moisture management and a thoughtful design that follows the shape of the foot. This helps the sock stay securely in place, reduces friction, and helps keep feet drier while reducing blisters.
When choosing sports socks, it is therefore a good idea to consider the activity, temperature, and how you want your socks to feel during training. The right material makes a big difference to both comfort and performance.
-
The best running socks are those that suit your running style, distance, and the conditions you run in.
When running, your feet are subjected to repeated impacts and high stress. Therefore, it is important to choose sports socks with effective moisture management, a secure fit, and a construction that reduces friction between your foot and shoe. This helps increase comfort and reduces the risk of chafing and blisters, whether you are running shorter routes or longer distances.
Gococos running socks are developed with functional materials and technologies such as 37.5® Technology to help keep your feet dry and comfortable throughout your entire run. Several models also feature reinforcement in the areas of the foot that experience the most stress and a design that follows the shape of the foot for increased stability.
Which model is best for you depends on your needs. Do you prefer a thin, breathable feel or more cushioning and support? By choosing a sports sock tailored to your running, you will enjoy greater comfort and can focus entirely on the step ahead of you.
For those who prefer a thin, breathable running sock, Light Sport and Light Sport High are good options. If you run longer distances or want more cushioning and comfort, Technical Cushion may be a better choice. -
Sports socks should fit snugly against the foot without feeling too tight. A good fit ensures that the sock follows the foot's movements and stays in place throughout the activity.
If the sock is too loose, it can slip or bunch up, increasing friction against the skin. If it is too tight, however, it can feel uncomfortable and restrict freedom of movement. The right size and a well-thought-out design therefore help provide both comfort and functionality.
Gococos sports socks are designed to follow the shape of the foot and provide support where the foot experiences the most pressure. This keeps the sock securely in place inside the shoe, reduces the risk of blisters, and provides a comfortable feel, even during longer workouts.
If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the size that provides a close fit without the sock feeling tight.
-
Yes, the right sports socks can reduce the risk of chafing and blisters by keeping your feet dry and reducing friction between your foot and shoe.
Chafing often occurs when the skin is exposed to repeated friction, especially if the foot becomes warm and damp. Therefore, the material and construction are important. Performance materials wick moisture away from the skin, while a well-thought-out design helps the sock stay in place and reduces the risk of folds that can cause chafing.
Gococos sports socks are developed with technologies such as 37.5® Technology, which helps to wick away moisture before it turns into sweat. Together with a design that follows the shape of the foot, it contributes to drier feet and a more comfortable feel throughout the entire workout.
If you often get chafing, a model with extra cushioning, such as Technical Cushion, can be a good choice. If you prefer a thinner feel in the shoe, Light Sport and Light Sport High are designed to provide high comfort without compromising on functionality.
-
Yes, merino wool is an excellent material for sports socks, both for training in cold and warmer temperatures.
Unlike traditional wool, merino wool helps regulate temperature and wick moisture away from the skin. The material keeps you warm when it is cold, feels comfortable when it is warm, and also has natural properties that counteract bad odors. This makes merino wool a popular choice for everything from running and hiking to skiing and other training where long-lasting comfort is important.
At Gococo, we combine merino wool with functional materials and technologies to create a sports sock that both wicks away moisture and provides high comfort during activity. This combination gives you the natural properties of wool along with the functionality required for an active lifestyle.
If you train in colder weather, during longer sessions, or want a sports sock that works well in varying temperatures, a merino wool sock model can be an excellent choice.
-
The choice between low and high sports socks is primarily about the activity you will be doing, the shoes you use, and the feel you prefer.
Low sports socks are a popular choice for running, gym workouts, and other activities on warmer days. They provide a breathable feel and are less visible above the shoe. High sports socks cover a larger part of the lower leg and can provide extra protection against chafing from shoes or surfaces, which many appreciate during activities such as trail running and hiking.
Regardless of height, it is important that the sports socks stay securely in place and effectively wick away moisture. This helps keep your feet dry and reduces the risk of blisters.
If you prefer a low-cut model, Light Sport is a great option. If you want the same functionality but with a higher cuff, Light Sport High is designed to provide the same comfort and fit.
-
Thin sports socks are ideal when you want a closer feel with your shoe and a cooler sensation during training.
They are particularly appreciated for running, gym workouts, and other high-intensity activities where your feet get warm. Thanks to the thinner construction, the shoe often feels more responsive, while the functional materials effectively wick away moisture and help keep your feet dry.
Thin sports socks don't mean you have to compromise on comfort. A well-thought-out design with support where the foot is most stressed and materials that reduce friction contribute to high comfort and reduce the risk of blisters.
If you prefer a thin and breathable sports sock, Light Sport is an excellent choice. If you want the same feel but with a higher cuff, Light Sport High is just as suitable.

The best sports socks for men are those that suit your activity, your shoes, and provide the right comfort and functionality.
Gococos sports socks are unisex and designed to perform equally well regardless of gender. The most important thing is therefore to choose the right size and a model that suits the activity you will be doing. A sports sock with effective moisture-wicking, a secure fit, and a design that reduces friction helps keep your feet dry and comfortable throughout the entire workout.
Gococo offers sports socks in various materials, levels of cushioning, and shaft lengths to suit different needs. Whether you are running, training at the gym, or out on longer walks, there are models designed to provide high comfort and functionality.
If you want a thin and flexible sports sock, Light Sport and Light Sport High are good options. For longer workouts or if you prefer more cushioning, Technical Cushion may be a better choice.

Yes, sports socks are also perfectly suitable for everyday wear.
Sports socks are designed to provide high comfort during activity, but the same features are also appreciated in everyday life. Functional materials that wick away moisture help keep your feet dry, while a well-thought-out construction provides a secure fit and reduces friction against the shoe. This means that many people find sports socks more comfortable than regular cotton socks, even on a typical workday.
If you stand or walk a lot, sports socks can also help keep your feet dry and comfortable, making them feel better throughout the day.
If you are looking for a sports sock that works just as well for training as for everyday wear, Active Crew is an excellent choice. If you prefer a low-cut style that is barely visible above the shoe, No Show Circulation is also a great option.

Sports Socks for Running, Gym and Training
Sports socks, also known as performance socks, are designed to provide superior comfort and help keep your feet dry during exercise. At Gococo you'll find sports socks for both women and men in a range of styles for running, gym workouts, hiking, trail running and other active pursuits.
Why Sports Socks Matter
During exercise your feet are exposed to heat, moisture and friction. Regular cotton socks tend to absorb sweat, increasing the risk of blisters and discomfort. Sports socks are designed to move moisture away from your skin, improve the fit inside your shoes and help keep your feet dry throughout your workout.
A good pair of sports socks can make a bigger difference than most people realise. When your socks stay securely in place, pressure is distributed more evenly across your feet, reducing friction and improving comfort whether you're running, training at the gym or simply going for a walk.
Choosing high-quality sports socks made from temperature-regulating and quick-drying materials helps reduce the risk of blisters and hot spots. That's why it's worth investing in sports socks where every detail – from materials to fit and construction – is designed with your feet in mind.
Sports Socks with 37.5® Technology
All Gococo sports socks feature 37.5® Technology in the sole.
This advanced material helps transport moisture away from the skin, creating a more comfortable environment inside your shoes. The result is drier feet, reduced friction and greater comfort during both short and long training sessions. The technology also helps minimise foot odour by efficiently moving moisture away from both your feet and your socks.
Our sports socks also feature an anatomical left/right fit that stays securely in place while providing support where it's needed most. Gococo offers sports socks for both women and men in sizes 35–47, available in different lengths, cushioning levels and colours.
What's the Difference Between Sports Socks and Regular Cotton Socks?
Sports socks – also known as performance socks – are specifically designed for exercise and physical activity. Unlike ordinary cotton socks, they focus on moisture management, comfort and a secure fit to help you perform at your best.
Sports socks are made from technical materials that efficiently transport moisture away from your feet, helping them stay dry throughout your workout. They also feature reinforced areas and anatomical construction to support your feet and reduce the risk of blisters.

Low-Cut or Crew Sports Socks?
Choosing between low-cut and crew sports socks depends on your activity, the weather and your personal preference.
Low-cut sports socks are ideal for gym workouts, running in warm weather or when you prefer a minimal feel inside your shoes. They provide excellent ventilation while staying securely in place.
Crew sports socks offer additional protection around the ankle and lower leg. They're a popular choice for trail running, hiking and outdoor training where extra protection against dirt, vegetation and shoe friction is beneficial.
At Gococo you'll find both low-cut and crew sports socks for women and men, making it easy to choose the model that best suits your training.
Running Socks

Both models are designed to stay securely in place, helping reduce friction and prevent blisters during your run.
Our running socks are available in a variety of colours and sizes for both women and men, and many models can also be purchased as value-priced multi-packs. If you're looking for additional support and improved circulation, you may also be interested in our compression socks.

Our training socks are available in sizes 35–47 and can also be purchased in colourful multi-packs, making it easy to mix and match your favourites.
How to Wash Your Sports Socks
To maximise the lifespan of your sports socks, turn them inside out before washing, avoid using fabric softener and allow them to air dry whenever possible. Wash at 40°C to preserve the performance of the technical fibres, and avoid tumble drying to help maintain their fit and functionality for longer.
